The ProLab Design HS420GE-ICX-S is a high-performance 4U rackmount server barebone engineered for AI computing, GPU acceleration, virtualization, HPC workloads, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise-scale data center deployments. Designed for dense compute environments, the server platform combines powerful GPU scalability, enterprise-grade redundancy, and high-speed PCIe Gen4 connectivity for demanding professional workloads.
Powered by dual 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors based on the Ice Lake platform, the HS420GE-ICX-S supports up to 250W TDP CPUs alongside the Intel C621A chipset, delivering enterprise-class compute performance for AI training, rendering, virtualization, simulation, and accelerated compute applications.
The platform supports up to 8x dual-width or 10x single-width GPUs, making it ideal for AI inference, machine learning, deep learning, rendering farms, and GPU-accelerated enterprise workloads. A Broadcom PEX88096 96-Lane PCIe Gen4 switch enables high-bandwidth connectivity with up to 12x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots through MCIO Gen4 interfaces for optimized multi-GPU scaling and expansion flexibility.
Built for memory-intensive enterprise applications, the HS420GE-ICX-S features 18x DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 3200MHz memory speeds, while storage support includes 12x front-accessible 3.5” hot-swap drive bays for large-capacity storage arrays, virtualization environments, AI datasets, and enterprise archival deployments.
Cooling is handled through 12x hot-swap redundant fans with N+1 redundancy using 6038/6056 fan configurations, ensuring stable airflow across CPUs, GPUs, and storage components under continuous heavy workloads. The server also supports up to 4x 2000W CRPS power supplies in a 3+1 redundant configuration for enterprise-grade reliability and uninterrupted operation.
For connectivity and remote management, the HS420GE-ICX-S includes dual USB 3.0 ports, VGA output, 1GbE networking with NCSI support, an OCP 3.0 slot, and DC-SCM 2.0 management powered by ASPEED AST2600 with IPMI 2.0 and Redfish support for advanced server monitoring and remote administration. Included railkits simplify rack deployment, while the 4U rackmount form factor provides ample space for high-density GPU and storage configurations in modern data center environments.
