The ProLab Design HS420GE-ICX-D is a high-performance 4U rackmount server barebone designed for AI acceleration, HPC workloads, virtualization, cloud infrastructure, rendering farms, and enterprise-scale GPU computing environments. Engineered for modern data centers, the platform combines high GPU density, enterprise redundancy, and PCIe Gen4 expansion capabilities for compute-intensive professional deployments.
Powered by dual 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors based on the Ice Lake architecture, the HS420GE-ICX-D supports CPUs up to 250W TDP alongside the Intel C621A chipset, delivering enterprise-class performance for AI processing, simulation, virtualization, and high-performance compute applications.
The platform supports up to 8x dual-width GPUs, enabling accelerated workloads such as AI training, deep learning, rendering, scientific computing, and GPU virtualization. The system utilizes a Direct PCIe Expansion Module architecture with MCIO Gen4 x8 connectivity and up to 12x PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, ensuring high-bandwidth GPU communication and flexible enterprise expansion capabilities.
Designed for memory and storage-intensive deployments, the HS420GE-ICX-D features 18x DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 3200MHz memory speeds, while storage support includes 12x front-accessible LFF hot-swap SATA/SAS/NVMe drive bays for high-capacity storage arrays, AI datasets, virtualization clusters, and enterprise archival systems.
Cooling is managed through 12x hot-swap redundant fans with N+1 redundancy using 6038/6056 fan configurations, providing focused airflow across CPUs, GPUs, storage, and expansion components for stable operation under sustained heavy workloads. The platform also supports up to 4x 2000W CRPS power supplies in a 3+1 redundant configuration for maximum uptime and power reliability in enterprise deployments.
For connectivity and advanced management, the HS420GE-ICX-D includes dual USB 3.0 ports, VGA output, 1GbE networking with NCSI support, an OCP 3.0 slot, and DC-SCM 2.0 management powered by the ASPEED AST2600 controller with IPMI 2.0 and Redfish support for remote monitoring and server administration. The included railkit simplifies rack deployment, while the 4U form factor provides the thermal and physical capacity required for dense GPU compute environments.
