The ProLab X710-DA4 Quad 10GbE SFP+ Network Adapter is an enterprise-grade high-density Ethernet solution engineered for virtualization infrastructures, cloud environments, enterprise storage platforms, high-performance computing systems, and modern data center deployments requiring scalable multi-port 10 Gigabit connectivity. Built around the Intel X710-BM1 Ethernet controller architecture, the adapter delivers four independent 10GbE SFP+ interfaces through a PCI Express Gen3 x8 platform, enabling high-throughput, low-latency network communication for demanding enterprise workloads. The card is particularly suited for virtualization clusters, software-defined networking environments, enterprise NAS and SAN infrastructures, media production systems, hyper-converged platforms, and bandwidth-intensive server deployments where advanced network virtualization support and stable multi-port throughput are essential.

The adapter operates over a PCI Express 3.0 x8 interface, providing sufficient upstream bandwidth to efficiently manage concurrent quad-port 10GbE traffic while minimizing bus-level bottlenecks during sustained high-throughput operation. Powered by the Intel X710-BM1 controller, the card is optimized for enterprise networking environments requiring hardware-assisted packet processing, scalable queue management, and virtualization-aware traffic acceleration. The adapter incorporates four SFP+ cages supporting both Direct Attach Copper (DAC) Twinaxial cabling and optical transceiver modules, allowing flexible deployment across short-range rack-level interconnects and longer-distance optical network infrastructures.

Each SFP+ interface supports both 10GbE and 1GbE operation depending on the installed transceiver or cable type, enabling seamless integration into mixed-speed enterprise network environments. Optical connectivity supports both 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-LR transceiver modules, allowing deployment across multimode and single-mode fiber infrastructures depending on operational distance requirements. In addition, support for 10GbE SFP+ DAC Twinaxial cabling enables low-latency, power-efficient server connectivity within high-density rack deployments. DAC support extends up to 10 meters, making the adapter particularly suitable for top-of-rack switching architectures, clustered virtualization hosts, and storage networking environments where short-range high-bandwidth connectivity is required.

The adapter incorporates advanced enterprise virtualization and network offload technologies optimized for cloud computing and software-defined networking infrastructures. Hardware-assisted network virtualization offloads support VxLAN, GENEVE, NVGRE, MPLS, and VxLAN-GPE with Network Service Headers (NSH), enabling efficient encapsulation and segmentation of virtualized network traffic while reducing CPU overhead on host systems. These capabilities improve scalability and traffic efficiency within virtual machine environments, containerized workloads, software-defined storage platforms, and multi-tenant cloud infrastructures where network abstraction and overlay networking are critical operational components.

Support for multiple interrupt mechanisms including INTA, MSI, and MSI-X further improves packet processing scalability and CPU efficiency within multi-core enterprise servers handling intensive network traffic. Combined with Intel’s enterprise Ethernet architecture, these technologies enable efficient traffic balancing, reduced latency, and optimized throughput across high-density virtualization environments and enterprise networking workloads.

Broad operating system compatibility enables the adapter to integrate seamlessly into heterogeneous enterprise infrastructures and cloud deployment environments. Windows support includes Windows 10 and Windows 11 workstation environments alongside Windows Server 2012, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019, and 2022 platforms. Linux compatibility extends across Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.7 and 9.1, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5 and 15 SP4, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and 22.04 LTS, Debian 11, and FreeBSD 12.3 and 13. This extensive operating system support allows deployment across virtualization hosts, enterprise storage servers, software-defined infrastructure nodes, industrial platforms, and professional workstation systems operating within mixed operating system ecosystems.

From a physical deployment perspective, the adapter utilizes a compact PCIe board layout measuring 167 mm x 69 mm and ships with a pre-installed full-height bracket for standard enterprise workstation and rackmount server installations. An included low-profile bracket enables deployment within compact server chassis and space-constrained enterprise systems. Despite supporting four independent 10GbE interfaces, the adapter maintains relatively low power consumption with a maximum rating of approximately 7.4 watts, making it suitable for high-density server environments where thermal and power efficiency are important operational considerations.

Thermal requirements are optimized for enterprise deployment environments utilizing both DAC and optical networking infrastructure. The adapter requires approximately 150 LFM airflow at 55°C for DAC-based deployments, while deployments utilizing extended-temperature SR optical transceivers may require airflow levels up to 500 LFM at 65°C depending on environmental conditions and optics configuration. These specifications support stable operation within high-density rackmount infrastructures and enterprise server platforms operating under sustained networking workloads.

Integrated LED indicators provide real-time operational visibility for network activity and connection status. Dedicated indicators display active link presence and traffic activity, while separate speed indicators visually differentiate between 10Gbps and 1Gbps negotiated link operation. These hardware-level indicators simplify deployment validation, diagnostics, and infrastructure troubleshooting procedures within enterprise networking environments.

Environmental reliability further supports deployment within demanding enterprise and industrial infrastructures. Operating temperature support ranges from 0°C to 55°C, while storage tolerance extends from -40°C to 70°C. Humidity tolerance supports up to 90% non-condensing relative humidity at 35°C, enabling dependable operation within controlled data center environments and industrial computing platforms. Compliance with CE, FCC, and RoHS certifications confirms adherence to internationally recognized standards for electromagnetic compatibility, environmental compliance, and commercial system integration requirements.

Overall, the ProLab X710-DA4 Quad 10GbE SFP+ Network Adapter provides a scalable and professionally engineered Ethernet connectivity platform for enterprise systems requiring high-density low-latency 10GbE networking, advanced virtualization acceleration, and flexible SFP+ deployment capability. Its Intel X710-BM1 controller architecture, PCIe Gen3 x8 interface, support for optical and DAC connectivity, enterprise virtualization offloads, and broad operating system compatibility make it well suited for virtualization clusters, cloud infrastructures, enterprise storage environments, industrial computing systems, and high-performance server deployments where dependable multi-port high-speed network communication is essential.
