The ProLab Design PL-S865-72 is a high-density 8U rackmount chassis engineered for enterprise storage arrays, large-scale NAS deployments, backup infrastructure, surveillance storage, and data center environments requiring massive storage scalability. Designed with an enterprise-focused industrial form factor, the chassis combines extreme storage density, enterprise-grade redundancy, and scalable hardware compatibility for modern storage-centric deployments.
Supporting SSI-EEB (E-ATX) motherboards, the PL-S865-72 is compatible with enterprise Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC server platforms, making it ideal for software-defined storage, archival systems, virtualization storage clusters, backup servers, and large-capacity enterprise data management workloads.
Storage capability is the defining highlight of the PL-S865-72, featuring support for up to 72x front-accessible 3.5” hot-swap drive bays alongside 2x internal 2.5” drive bays. Combined with the integrated 12 Gb/s Mini SAS backplane, the chassis enables high-speed storage connectivity and massive capacity scaling for enterprise NAS systems, surveillance retention platforms, cloud storage infrastructure, and archival deployments.
Cooling is handled through 6x pre-installed 12038 hot-swap fans, delivering high-volume airflow across CPUs, memory, storage, and expansion hardware for stable thermal performance in continuous enterprise workloads. The chassis includes dual pre-installed 1600W CRPS power supplies, providing enterprise-grade redundancy and reliable operation for high-capacity storage deployments.
For expansion flexibility, the PL-S865-72 supports 7x half-height expansion slots and conditional low-profile GPU support depending on motherboard compatibility and system configuration. This allows integration of networking adapters, RAID controllers, storage accelerators, and specialized enterprise hardware for advanced deployment requirements.
For deployment convenience, the ProLab Design PL-S865-72 includes a railkit for simplified rack installation and maintenance access. Front I/O connectivity includes 2x USB 3.0 ports, while the 650mm chassis depth provides broad compatibility with enterprise racks and modern data center environments despite its ultra-high storage density.
